About Me

My name is Eric, and I am a Christian. The longer I walk this road with Jesus, the more I realize my need for God’s grace, and the more clearly I realize my only hope is in Christ. I long to see him, and behold the glory of God in his face.

I enjoy backpacking, paddling canoes and kayaks, and good coffee. I tend to be an obsessive work-a-holic, but I’m getting over it.

I’m a husband of a beautiful woman whom I love deeply. Of all the gifts God has given me in my life, I count her as the greatest. Together, we have three little girls without whom our lives would be less sweet, less joyful, and yes, less chaotic. They are our delight.

I am a pastor. I love Christ and His Church. I serve a church full of great people who, like me, need the grace given by Jesus. This blog is born out of that love and a few years serving her. I have a theological education, some years of experience, and a little gray hair. I suppose some combination of these three things means I have something worth writing down.

  1. May I be the first one to leave a comment. I am blessed to know you and enjoy your teaching God’s Word. You also bless CW and me as you live what you teach from The Holy Bible. Your family’s life demonstrates what a joy this journey on earth can be when your hope is in Jesus Christ. Wow! Sure hope this brightens your day, because we all have dark days on our journey with Christ.

  2. Greetings, Eric! My son, Stephen, forwarded your blog thinking I would be interested in your insights as a result of a sermon I preached recently at “the church on the hill” (Zelienople Church of Christ). He was absolutely correct! Thank you for your graceful instruction. For the Christian, due to God’s grace, no failure is final. The indwelling Holy Spirit enables us to never give up no matter how desperate our circumstances may appear for we are in reality more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord!
