Last October, for the first time ever, I grew a full beard. It took an eternity of 6 weeks before I stopped looking like a mangy dog. The itching was almost unbearable in week two, but I manned up and got through it. My chin is more gray than last time I had a goatee, but only on half of it. I call it my “sideways skunk.”

Sometimes we see something awesome…
And then we see something truly awesome…
It’s not you, it’s me. If anything, you’ve only gotten sweeter with time. You have been my companion on many, many mornings. We get up and meet the world together, but two hours later, you’re gone. There we were, all turned around backward looking at the back of the sanctuary. Those sitting in the back, who like it there because they don’t get a lot of attention, are now suddenly the center of attention. The looks on their faces were priceless as we all stood, faced the opposite direction, and looked at a little screen above the rear balcony. It was backward day at our church.

Sometimes I look around at the very talented people I know, and I marvel at how good they are at things. Me? Well, I’m a one trick circus pony. I wish I was had more skills and talents. I’m a hyper-focused guy who has too many opinions and doesn’t know when to stop talking, but in another life I would like to be more well-rounded. So, here is my list of things I wish I could do…
